Rhys Priestland

9th Jan 1987 1.83m/92kg Fly Half

A versatile fly half who has also played at full back. The former Wales U18/20 international made his Scarlet’s debut as an 18 year old in 2005.

Priestland replaced Stephen Jones in the Scarlet’s team when he was on International duty and due to his good Scarlet’s form, it wasn't long before Priestland replaced him at International level, either.

He burst onto the international scene in the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, where he steered Wales to their first semi-final since 1987 and was regarded by many observers as one of the competitions best performers.

During Priestland’s playing career in West Wales, he became the Scarlets top points scorer with over 1000 points.

Priestland has prolonged his stay with Bath after joining on an initial two-year deal from the Scarlets in the summer of 2015.

The fly-half, who has appeared in the Blue, Black and White 27 times and scored 101 points to date, has bought in a wealth of experience and competition to the backline.

In January Priestland was named in Wales 2018 6 Nations squad having reached the 50 test mark against New Zealand in November 2017, to date he has scored 103 points.

As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, Priestland has had 50 European Cups appearances scoring 5 tries and 302 points.
